French traditional costume

Though I did not really plan to feature postcards showing people in 3 posts in a row… I happen to have a few cards in my hand right now, nicely grouped as they are showing traditional costume from Brittany, France. But sorry, I have ones showing women costume so far, if anyone can send me French men (preferably hot men :D) in traditional costume, please please do!

From Pazzolina. This pretty lady is wearing the traditional costume of Fouesnant. Brittany is a place of folklore and tradtions and it shows on these costumes :)

From Pazzolina. This postcard comes with a bookmark (left side), but I have to cut it off and I did not coz I want this nice postcard stay in one piece :) These are also traditional costumes from Brittany. It has its own language and the culture is strong.. and people here do not wear traditional costume only on events or for touristy festivals, but also during religious celebrations and on weddings. Oh, and this is an image at the back of the card at the bookmark part:

Sweet-looking kids, aren’t they? And at least you can see the men costume here.. ;)

From Mumofmax. This postcards comes with a rather vintage photo that I love, perhaps it was taken during the time when everyone used to wear “traditional” costume for real.. I mean look at those clogs choes!! :) And what the woman is wearing is quite similar to the costumes from earlier cards.. And something about clogs: they’re made of wood, and mostly identical to each other, only the wood was different, so it was hard to choose!

Soviet vintage posters reprint

I have come to receive several postcards from Russia which are actually reprints of vintage posters from the Soviet Union time. Which I can say… quite interesting :)

From Uni. This is an American poster from 1942, created by J.Miller.

From Berry. Russian poster from 1941. It says here “DON’T BLAB!” ..

“Be wary
At such days
Walls are eavesdropping
It’s not far away from blabbing
And gossiping
To betrayal”

From Anasty. This is a Soviet propagandistic poster from 1957. It says here “Friendship is important than everything, friendship is the flag of youth!”

Vilnius

End of last year I have received two official cards from Lithuania within 2 months! I think it’s such a luck, seeing Lithuania is one of the less regular countries in Europe, or maybe it’s just me who don’t know that Lithuania is having more and more users nowadays. Anyways. Let’s start with its capital, Vilnius :)

LT-20937 from Greta. This is Saint Anne’s Church in Vilnius Old Town, which was built in gothic style. The first original church at this site believed to be wooden, was built for Anna, the first wife of Vytautas the Great. The original church was destroyed in fire in 1419, and the present brick church was built after the reconstruction.

LT-9512 from Augustas showing an old photo of Vilnius. On the photo is written Wilno, which is the older name of Vilnius.

From Prosas. A sunset view of Vilnius, though I’m not sure which part. He didn’t write anything on card except his name. But at least on the back of this card has an image of statutue of an army with his horse.

From Prosas again. And though he sent these cards written and stamped, he didn’t write anything much actually, lol. Anyway it says here Gediminas Castle (seen front) and TV Tower (at the back, I guess). The Gediminas Tower is the only functional part of the Vilnius Upper Castle.
