Random Act of Smileness for Postcards Friendship Friday

Postcrossers are known to be lovely buddies who love to make people smile for no reason! :) My very first postcard I received for Random Act of Smileness in the forum was sent by no-one but dear Chat Noir. I know I have featured many postcards from him in this blog.. then again he’s on no #2 in the ranking of the contributors for my bigass postcards collection.. I think I have received over 20 cards from Chat Noir alone, but among those bunch, I can’t help showing off this particular lovely card that really put a BIG smile on my face…. I swear it really did. :))

Not only this card was a real surprise, but it was much much more than wonderful to make me the happiest person on earth just the moment I looked at the back of the card….

Sorry, I know I should not scan the sender’s message BUT I can’t help showing off this!!! XD XD XD And it came as my first RAS postcard!! I simply had a crush on Chat Noir because of this special postcard… ahhahaha.. but I have no idea why he left Postcrossing now…. sigh. I didn’t finally have a chance to meet him even though we planned it twice.. lol… long stories..

Okay so this post is dedicated to Chat Noir and my fellow Malaysian Postcrossers, you really know how to rock!! HAHA and we’ve been a good family, no? :)

The Sandman, King of Dreams

I want to feature these cards here, they’re collectible cards published by DC Comics on the Sandman characters.. I hardly know anything about the comic but these cards are sure great! Don’t you think? I received them from Chat Noir.. so I guess he’s a fan of the Sandman… and oh, Chat Noir is another person who has left Postcrossing *sob sob*

This is my favorite!! :D This card is from the Vertigo set by Greg Spalenka.

Boys playing on the shore… let's take care

Don’t hate me for featuring so many Finland postcards coz they’re just awesome!! :)) But this is real interesting, I promise! First, see this art postcard:

From Seglare. I have learned that Finland has produced loads of fine art and this is one of them, entitled “Boys Playing on the Shore“ by Albert Edelfelt and was made in 1884… yes, this painting is more than 100 years old now! And like I said when about the way Finns publish comics on postcard, they do (probably more) with arts as well.. so may I repeat, every cool stuff can be found on postcards in Finland, how nice is that? I love the theme of this painting .. boys having a good time with probably their most exciting entertainment at that time and place.

From Duffeli and Vanssi (I got duplicates). Now does this card look familiar? Yes? No? Yes? YES!!! :D I was wondering exactly the same way, whether I had received this card before.. and later I read that this picture was made after the above “Boys Playing in the Shore” painting.. and if you noticed the difference, and are wondering why, it’s because this is an ad card by RAY that promotes tolerance towards immigrants. It says here, “RAY helps immigrant work also in this year for 7 million Euros. That’s not enough for all we would want to do. It doesn’t replace a friend or a fellowman. Let’s take for each other also in the future”. And Pidetaan Huolta is “Let’s take care”.. :) and the picture really means it.
