A postcard from IPM 2007!

Hello and I have got a new scanner :D so please don’t be surprised if you see a girl somewhere is scanning and uploading her tons of postcards like crazy. I have loads which have been delayed since the scanner breakdown and job. But I can’t make much new entries in this blog, not yet, coz I want to overload the pics into Flickr first, then I’ll be back here to show off the postcards one by one :P

HP F4280 3-in-1. I’m lovin’ it :)

Okay in the meantime I just realized that this very very VERY special postcard has been missing from the Flickr regardless I received it in 2007!! (HUH??). Well it’s totally a crime not to show off this postcard, because it was exclusively sent from the  INTERNATIONAL POSTCROSSING MEETING 2007!!!

Budapest! I just made an entry about Budapest postcards a few days back (including this bridge) but this one is nothing usual! This postcard, which put a big smile on my face right the moment it arrived in my hand, and it was a total surprise! :D Hugs to Athena125 who went to Budapest all the way from Slovenia and had everyone to sign postcards, and sent one to me – yes ME, imajica, who was dying to go to Budapest to attend the Postcrossing meeting but had to face the fact that I lived thousands miles away (sigh, if only I was rich..). Okay here you go, people who attended the IPM 2007 (maybe there were some more who didn’t sign the postcard):

Wow, doesn’t that look cool? ;) Many Postcrossers from all over come sitting in one place to do nothing but write and send postcards! And oh, take pictures too. I hereby wish International Postcrossing Meeting 2010 to be held in Kuala Lumpur!! YEAH.

Budapest

I have got a number of Hungary postcards but I guess I should start with its capital first :) Let me tell you how these 3 Budapest postcards are chained -related. Well this is my own little investigation and I was so giddy when I took a closer look at the pictures and found out this fact.

Budapest 1 from Haju. The river down the Budapest city is called Danube, which actually cuts half the city: left side is Buda and right side is Pest. See that there are 3 bridges crossing this river. And the middle bridge is the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, which the most famous and oldest bridge. Let’s zoom in and focus yourself to the area where that bridge is located.

Budapest 2 from Satsuma. Oh now you can see a closer look of Széchenyi Chain Bridge! :) The marvellous bridge was opened in 1849, and became the first permanent bridge in the Hungarian capital. In this postcard the House of Parliament is clearly seen at the back. See that building, okay?

Budapest 3 from Sterika. YAY now we have got a close up look of the Hungarian House of Parliament! :D I just love this building. I looks more a gothic church than a parliament, at least in this picture. Cool isn’t it? (You have no idea how boring Malaysian parliament building is :P) Anyways. This Hungarian Parliament building was built from 1885 to 1904, and it really was built in gothic revival style. And one interesting fact from its Wikipedia, the architect of this building went blind before its completion. (Huh?)

Alright. Now you have seen how postcard 3 is “inside” postcard 2 and postcard 2 is inside postcard 1! :) It’s called chain-relation, isn’t it? Okay whatever :P That’s all from Budapest!
