Κύπρος – Cyprus

OK so a new country for this blog :) Cyprus is an island country in the eastern Mediterranean, and has a major ethnic groups of Greek and Turkish, and I got these Cyprus cards from Eldi in Belgium from her vacation.

This is a Cypriot woman baking in a traditional oven in her garden. It’s a common to see an oven in every home garden in Cyprus.. which I find interesting as well. And those freshly baked breads look delicious!! I am craving for those kinds of bread, which I hardly find any here.. I can’t remember when and where I had something like that.. probably from a good sandwich restaurant.

:):):) Can anyone be sure you can be together with your partner until this age? This is soooooooo sweet.. a Cypriot couple, walking together, hand in hand, and a walking stick in the other hand. And notice the man is wearing some baggy trousers – they’re called Vraka. The vraka is made of coarse handwomen dimity, which is dyed after sewing by local dyers. Black for elderly man and blue for younger ones. I have seen some Turkish men wearing those as well before and couldn’t stop smiling, yeah they look quite funny.
