Arab men

Among the Saudi Arabia postcards that I received there are some with people on them. However, I noticed that they are only men on the pictures.. no single woman! Though obviously, Saudi Arabia does have female population, I have come to realize that they don’t really expose their women for a reason or another. So until I ever get a postcard showing an Arab woman, here are the men first..

From Deepdowne. This is a leisure view at the Janadriyah Souq market where they have carpets, accessories and clothings on sale. I was amazed to see that women do not work in business field in KSA.. even the cosmetics shops are taken care by male shop assistants!

From Deepdowne. I am not sure what kind of social meeting they have under a tent like this.. on this card it says “Hail maountains: “Welcome to Ughdah!”"

This card was among a bunch which my ex-classmate Reema bought for me during vacation in her hometown in Medinah in 2007. These blades are handmade daggers in Najran. Okay, regarding the costume these men are wearing.. it’s the traditional dress they usually wear all times in the country.. either as formal or non-formal dress. There are many Arab students in my university sometimes you can see them wearing like this especially on Fridays… well, minus the headgears. So if you visit KSA, you’ll see most men in white and women in black :D

I found this picture that may help you know the name of the dress and accesories.
