PFF – Traumstraßen in Deutschland

For the Postcard Friendship Friday, I have to feature this very interesting postcard today! It’s a sort of map in a part of Germany, only a little unusual coz it shows the Fairy Tales Route! :)

From Padme_Chandra. Now can you recognize these fairy tales? They all belong to these places along this route! How exciting!! I have always loved the Bremen Musicians, the Hamelin Pied Piper, Hensel & Gretel ever since I can remember. And…. is that the Sleeping Beauty?? :D And there’s the Little Red Riding Hood and the fox!! I am not sure if I can remember the rest though.. do you? (they look rather familiar, but now I am clueless when I’m trying hard to remember! -____-)

Okay this is where the route is physically located in Germany. How amazing to know this is home to alot of famous fairytales that are well-known to children around the world (including Malaysia, yes). Though to be honest, I wasn’t really aware that they were from Germany! :P

nice postcard, I remember those fairy tales too:).
Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

  • I spy the pied piper too! This is such a fun! hmmm.. The girl in the left hand corner is from the story Sterntaler (Star Money) ! A picture of it used to be on the 1000 DM bill (money) I only know that beacuase I lived in Germany for years and years though:) Happy PFF!

  • haha yes the Pied piper.. now that’s the correct English name :P coz I had in my mind only the Malay translated name “peniup seruling Hamelin” and it simply made me translate to flute player :D

  • oh yes, the pied piper, great card and so much to see.

  • I’d never thought about where the fairy tales came from. It does look like the Sleeping Beauty, but the Château d’Ussé in France is supposed to be the inspiration for that tale. Of course the author could have been a visiting German! :)

    That is a wonderful card!

  • Ah fairy tales .. doesnt matter if its true or not .. after all they are ‘tales’

  • Great info! My daughter and I are big Brother’s Grimm fans so I’ll have to show her this post. Happy PFF and thanks for stopping by my blog.

  • The other three fairytales on the card are “Mother Hulda”, “Max and Moritz” and “Baron Munchausen”.
