People in Greece

This is my first entry about Greece, and instead of featuring a postcard showing its place or monuments which I still have very few, I would love to see these cards with people here first. I find it really interesting, to be able to see the real lifestyle in a place… how local people dress and do in their day.. these are absolutely among my favorite theme of postcards!!

From Marnie. It’s such a typical sight in Greece.. and in many other countries too I guess, where some elderly men gather in a coffee shop in their free time.. only Marnie says she was amazed to know how much more men than women seem to go out in Greece.. hmm, now it makes me realized that it’s the same thing in Malaysia as well, especially in smaller towns and villages. But women do go out, too, of course.

From Moisianu. This boy is very happy that he catched two big squids today! :D and take a look again at the first postcards with the cofeeshop men.. see at the back.. they dry squids on the drying lines! I know we have dried squids here as well.. there used to be a time when there existed stalls on bicycle goes around selling dried squids.. and they can be found at night markets as well. Now that I mentioned dried squids, I haven’t eaten them for such a long time! And these Greek squids are relatively bigger in size.. and now I am craving for dried squids :)~ thing is I don’t know where to find one these years…

From Moisianu. First of all, I love the house! This should be a typical neighborhood in Crete island.. the architecture, the people, the flowers, and the especially the donkey! I love the way they have only small path within the house buildings.. obviously only for pedestrian, donkeys, and bicycles at most.. no cars or engined vehicles and such.
