Graz

I realized that I haven’t included Austria postcards yet, so I wanted to choose some among that I have received from the country. Instead of Vienna postcards, I would like to show my postcards from Graz first. Both are from my postcard pal Astrid who lives there – I don’t know if she’s in Postcrossing though.

Graz is a historical city and has been listed in UNESCO Heritage site since 1999. It also has a long as a student city and has 6 universities. This postcard shows the Clock Tower of Graz, and special thing about it: the long hand shows the hour and the short hand shows the minutes. Hmm, must be confusing for the tourists, no?

This is Rathaus the City Hall with the fountain of Archduke Johann in front. Though the human statutes appear to be more appealing than the fountain, I think. Usually the place in front of the city hall is filled with waggons where they sell flowers, food, newspapers etc.
